Horse show people...
Sunday at Sycamore...
Even more ESI horses and riders went on the ribbon chase at the Orange Coast Cooler Horse Show on Sunday. Joining in the hunter classes were Megan and Timmy and Jacqueline and Cadence. They each got ribbons in both hunters and Equitation. (Jacqueline won a Junior/Amateur Hunter class, as well as the Sunday OCHSA Equitation Medal and the CPHA Childrens/Adult Medal.) Also on Sunday, Alison and Ansley moved their horses up the Modified Jr/Amateur Hunter classes and were in the ribbons. And, Alison, won the OCHSA Horsemanship Class on Sunday. Gwen graciously lent Montage to Nina, who also was very competitive in equitation and Medal classes, including winning her age group Maiden Equitation on the Flat.
Back in the Pony ring, ESI had three competitors in the Lead Line Class - Gabrielle on Majesty, Ciara on James and Kirra on Ginger. Of course, all three walked away with blue ribbons! In addition to showing Lady in Short Stirrup, Shea piloted James around in the Hunter Hack, Green Riders Under Saddle and the Pony Under Saddle class. Lady, Ginger and Diva all continued to show in their respective divisions in that ring on Sunday, and continuing to receive prizes.
As promised, there was lots of new coming out of the Jumper Arena Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning. Wendy got to take her jumper turn on Island Rock in a couple of classes, and Nicole switched horses, successfully showing Learjet in a number of classes. Both Cadence and Wolf were in the ribbons on Sunday, as was Euan and Gigi throughout the weekend. Casey borrowed Argentine for a few classes, garnering a couple of ribbons for their first attempt together, and Sheila made her debut on Max. Kathryn showed both Faith and Rocket in a number of classes, claiming second and third place in Saturday's Modified Jr/Amateur class, and second and fourth in the Mini Prix. Speaking of the Mini Prix, Jennifer and Simpson took home the top prize this week. Also in the ribbons in the higher classes were Kelsie on Ego and Becky on Vigo.
It was a very successful weekend for all our riders and we send congratulations to all of them!
Still waiting and hoping... Anyone get any pictures?

Saturday at Sycamore...
Scanning through Saturday's results from the Orange Coast Cooler Horse Show at Sycamore, the Reporter has determined that it's impossible to list all the ESI winners here! If you weren't there and want to see how your friends are doing, go to www.horseshowtime.com. (Remember, just go to "Our Favorite Links" in the right column of the ESI Reporter and click on the link.)
We can report that there is a huge turnout of ESI riders at this show! In the covered ring, Gabrielle rode Saturday in what we think was her first lead-line class on Majesty, before her sister came back to the Walk/Trot classes. Oliva and Diva are showing in the Hunter Hack and Cross Rail classes, Shea and Lady are showing in the Short Stirrup division, and MaKenna and Ginger are right there with them in both Short Stirrup and Pony Hunters.
Our Childrens Hunter contingent is huge - Nicole and Escada, Ainsley and Noah's Pride, Jaime and Grace, Kira and Chamonix and Alison and Razz Ma Tazz, and they are all getting good ribbons! Audra and Fire have been taking their turns in the AA Hunters, Jaime and Grace stepped up to the Modified Jr/Amateur Hunters, and Melissa and Fiona made themselves well known in Junior/Amateur Hunters.
In flat equitation, Wendy is getting ribbons on Riptide, as did Peggy on Grace, and our new buddy, Blake, got prizes of his own on Salute. Audra, Jennifer and Danielle were all winners in the Open Equitation Flat (All Ages) class.
In Saturday's Medal Classes - a second for Audra in the Golden Horse, prizes to Jennifer, Jaime, Danielle and Audra, in the OCHSA Horsemanship, and Melissa won the OCHSA Equitation Medal.
We've got lots of horses and riders in the Jumper Ring as well, but we'll save that report for tomorrow! (If anyone out there is taking pictures, please email them to Margaret for posting.)

ESI Playday and Ciara's Birthday Bash...

Thanks to Elena Pulford, the Reporter has a number of pictues from last Sunday's fun and games at ESI. A highlight of the event was, of course, the Sit-A-Buck class, with three finalists jumping a fence to determine the winner. Kathryn remains undefeated, despite being given quite a run "for the money" by the other riders. (Check out her "victory" stand!) Approximately 24 riders took part in the day's activities, including singing Happy Birthday to Ciara.

The ESI Wall of Fame
Thanks to Kim Ornelas for repainting John and Katie's office and to Mary Edwards for shooting and framing photos of many of our riders, the ESI Wall of Fame is quickly coming together! If you haven't yet gotten your picture on the wall, make your small donation to the cause and verify with Mary E. that she has already taken your picture. Soon, we should have the whole ESI Family on display!
