Saturday's results from Orange Coast Cooler Show at Sycamore...

There were lots of ESI horses and riders competing on Saturday at Sycamore. Here are a few of the highlights starting with our pony riders:
MaKenna on Ginger and Olivia on Soxx were both in the ribbons in the Short Stirrup Hunter and Flat Equitation Divisions. They were also 1st and 3rd in the Maiden Eq Flat for their age group, then came back 4th and 5th in the Novice. And MaKenna piloted Teddy to ribbons in the Level 0 and Pony jumper classes. Our pony riders are getting hot!
In Children's Hunters, Melissa took a few spins on Amigo, winning both the over fences classes. (She also got good ribbons in the Low Division.) Kira on Chamonix and Allison on Razz were right behind in the Children's Hunter line-ups.
Arielle showed Grace for the first time this weekend and got prizes, along with Gwen and Montage in the Low Childrens/AA Hunters.
In the Modified Jr/Amateur Hunters, Escada placed first and second, joined by Chamonix, Razz and Cruising in the ribbon chase. And in the Junior/Amateur hunters, Kendall and Cruising and Jaime on Grace received year-end qualifing ribbons.
Jaime and Allison just got edged out of qualifying in OCHSA Equitation Medal on Saturday. Better luck next time, girls!
As for the rest of the jumpers:
Brandee and her baby placed 3rd in Level 1
Madison and Leo were 3rd in Level 2/3
Rocket and Kathryn were first in the Childrens/AA Jumpers, with Gigi, Razz, and Casper all in the ribbons behind them. And, Allison and Razz pulled out a big win in the Modified Jr/Amateur Jumpers, followed closely by Gigi and Rocket.
It's a great show for all so far. Sunday looks to be even better!

A dept of gratitude to the San Juan Capistrano Equestrian Coalition...

"Rancho Mission Viejo has agreed to continue for three years the operations of the Oaks/Blenheim/Rancho Mission Viejo Riding Park. The announcement ends speculation that this popular 80-acre equestrian and soccer venue would cease operations at year's end."

Taken from the San Juan Capistrano Equestrian Coalition website and its now old news! In fact, the city of San Juan Capistrano is now doing due diligence in preparation to purchase this land, ensuring that this property will remain an equestrian park indefinitely!

This agreement has come about in no small part due to the efforts of the San Juan Capistrano Equestrian Coalition! John and Katie and the ESI Reporter encourage all of our riders to show their support of and gratitude to the Coalition for its work on the behalf of all of us who use and enjoy the Blenheim show facility by becoming members.
