The New Year's Resolution Challenge Responses...

Some of our loyalest ESI Reporter readers chose to take part in the New Year's Resolution Challenge. From the Junior ranks:

" Without my pony Lady, I wouldn't be as far as I am now. My new year's resolution is to be confident. In 2009, when I start riding horses, I want to be open to try new things. I love that I am able to train with John and Katie Berney because they are the ones that help me and give me great advice. I'm sure they will help me accomplish my new year's resolution."
Shea Metz
And from the older crowd:

"Hi all - my New Year's Resolution is to get this ankle better and ride again!"
Gwen Grierson

"Much to my dismay, this year's resolution(s) is pretty much the same as it's been for the past 20 years. Hopefully this year we'll see a breakthrough!
Keep my shoulders back, ESPECIALLY the right one.
Keep my eyes UP.
Don't lean forward BEFORE the jump, Dummy!"
Mary Edwards

"Keep my eyes up and be patient."
Jeff Mixer

"Ride in my saddle more often so people stop asking me if I own one!"
Margaret McKay

The Reporter was informed by another source that John Berney's resolution for 2009 is to name a boat after a horse. We wish him much luck in this endeavor as we assume it would involve actually BUYING a boat before he named it!

Thanks to all riders who participated in the challenge. If others want to add their 2009 resolutions or goals to this list, simply email them to Margaret or add a comment to this post!
